The head trainer for Stratford Youth Soccer is Robert Atanda, PhD. Robert played for former US National Team Head Soccer Coach, Bruce Arena, at the University of Virginia from 1988-1991, where he won the 1989 and 1991 NCAA Championship, and the 1988 and 1991 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championship.

He is a former high school and youth soccer coach. He was an All-State player in high school (Piscataway, NJ), voted 1988 County player of the year, voted one of the top 33 soccer players in NJ in 1988, and holds numerous high school scoring records.

Robert is married with three children and lives in Olney, Md. He enjoys sharing his love of the game with young soccer players, and has done so for the last 17 years as a youth soccer coach.
